Questions and answers about the Torch Society

How do I get started with my legacy plan?

Review your will/trust. Do these documents reflect your current charitable intentions?

What are the types of legacy gifts?

Consider making CORE El Centro a beneficiary of your life insurance, pension plan, IRA, 401(k), 403(b) or other retirement plan. This is a very easy and tax efficient means to transfer assets to a charity.

Make a bequest and name CORE El Centro in your will either as a specified amount or as a percentage of the estate. You may be including other favorite causes in your legacy planning so you may wish to consider allocating a certain percentage to each. Contact your financial advisor and ask for help in establishing your charitable gift.

Is there a minimum amount required?

There is no minimum required. Actually most legacy gifts come from middle to low-income individuals.

Do I need to disclose the amount of the legacy gift?

You can inform the CORE Development Office of the estimated amount if you wish, but are not required to do so.

How will my legacy gift be used at CORE El Centro?

Your gift will be used to carry CORE El Centro's mission into the future.

Is it really that easy?

Yes, actually, it is. The CORE Development Office will be happy to work with you. Call Patricia Bogenschuetz at 414-225-4260.
