Katie Brewer, WLMT

Katie has been providing massage & Reiki at CORE/El Centro since 2016. Her specialties are Swedish, elder, prenatal & postnatal, myofascial release, foot reflexology and lymphatic massage and trigger point therapy.

Philosophy Statement:
I“ believe there are emotional as well as physical benefits to massage—a lifting of the mood and a feeling of support. My goal is to employ whatever technique is needed to bring relief to the client, increase flexibility and reduce their stress.

“I am a widowed mom of three kids who discovered the emotional benefits of massage in my own self-care.”

Madeline Gianforte
Massage Therapist & Reiki Practitioner

Madeline has been providing reiki and therapeutic massage at CORE/El Centro since 2001.

“Each of us has an innate body of wisdom that takes hold as we enter our healing journey. As a practitioner, I hold the space for the client to do their healing and am honored to walk the journey with each person.”

Maria Noth, MSOM, LMT, L.Ac.
Acupuncturist, Massage Therapist

Maria started providing acupuncture at CORE/El Centro in 2016. She has over 12 years of overall experience. Her areas of expertise are nutrition, fertility, pregnancy, pediatric services, orthopedic sports medicine and women’s health.

Philosophy Statement:
“I think holistic therapies should be accessible for everyone, so I am grateful to be practicing at CORE/El Centro where this is possible. I believe in eastern medicine’s philosophy to get to the root of a patient’s problem, which can help prevent illness before it starts.”

 
 

Marisa Elena Hernandez-De Windt, LMT CMT
Massage Therapist

Marisa has been providing massage therapy at CORE/El Centro since 2010. Her areas of expertise include natural therapies, relaxation, trauma care and being a life coach. She has a special passion for working with clients who are ready to grow, heal and become balanced.

Philosophy Statement:
“I feel massage is a powerful tool for health awareness and life transformation. When we learn to listen to our bodies, we can learn to heal the mind, body and emotions. I can help my clients heal from trauma, surgery, cancer or those who just ‘feel stuck’. Through natural therapies, my clients can find a space to breathe and a true sense of hope.”

 

Mary Reynolds, L.Ac., MSOM, BSN
Acupuncturist & Reiki Master

Mary has been providing acupuncture at CORE/El Centro since 2008. Her areas of expertise are auricular (ear) acupuncture, Dr. Nogier; distal needling, Master Tung and Balance method, Dr.Tan.

Philosophy Statement:
“I believe in giving safe and effective treatments. Some of the methods I’ve studied and continue to study are said to help conditions heal more quickly. The auricular treatments are effective for people who need to be mobile.

“I am fluent in German and French and have been studying Spanish. I love being creative, making my own henna and body designs. My family includes my spouse, two children and my dog, Sophie. The people at CORE are family to me too.”

 

Paul Shinkle, L.A.C., MSOM

Paul has been providing acupuncture since 2015. His areas of specialty are pain management,oncology support, insomnia care and meditation instruction.

Philosophy Statement:
“No human being is disposable, so it is up to all of us to care for ourselves and each other.”

Other personal information: I teach philosophy (ethics) at Upper Iowa University-Milwaukee Center. I’m a former chef, so I love to cook --- and eat. I am committed to sustainable agriculture in the family farm model and get most of my meat, eggs and vegetables from a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm. I am an avid reader; my house might collapse from the weight of all the books. I love, respect and admire my wife. There is a cat in the household, named Freyia; she is in charge.
