Clinic offers complementary care for poor and immigrant residents

Fareeda Dadzie sat in a hallway awaiting her bimonthly massage. With her eyes closed and the back of her head resting on the wall behind her chair, she looked content and relaxed.
And while such a scene is undoubtedly observed daily in the ritzy spas of New York and Beverly Hills, the picture doesn't usually include a 57-year-old unemployed woman in a clinic on Milwaukee's south side.
But the scene is typical at the Creative Opportunities for Rebirthing Energies Center, or CORE/ El Centro - a clinic designed to provide alternative and complementary health care to poor, mostly immigrant, residents of the Walker's Point neighborhood.
