Special Needs

Our Special Needs Program allows special needs adults to experience natural healing services and engage with the community in wholistic exercise classes.  To accommodate the needs of this population, CORE/El Centro currently provides 15-minute chair massages, promoting relaxation and calm. CORE/El Centro also provides Nia movement classes that are adapted for this group with less complexity and more repetition of movement.  These classes are also open to the public, providing an opportunity for these adults to be part of a larger community.

The Special needs Program:

  • Addresses the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of the developmentally disabled.
  • Reduces the feelings of isolation by integrating this population into regular wholistic exercise classes and traditional natural therapy services.
  • Helps this population experience an increased aerobic capacity, better balance, more relaxed demeanor, an increased mental awareness and the ability to vocalize a sense of joy.
