Stephanie is a 4th generation Wisconsin resident with German, Irish and Norwegian ancestry. She has been reconnecting to her ancestral food and farming traditions over the past 10 years working at CORE El Centro.
Stephanie graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a M.S. in Health Psychology where her research focused on cultural and social influences on eating behaviors. She is an advocate for community gardens and markets as a way to build social capitol and prioritize healing through environmental stewardship.
Her interests include nutrition, food justice and combining work around the social determinants of health and individual behavior change to create stronger communities. Stephanie recognizes the importance of connecting with cultural food traditions as a way to build healthy relationships to food and community.
